Bodybuilding Workout When You’re Short On Time

Circuit training isn't necessarily seen as a bodybuilding workout or as a first option for most bodybuilders when they're considering what workout routine to do when they get into the gym.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of circuit training either but when I have 30 minutes or less to work out and I want to pump iron and do some cardio I turn to a what I call a hybrid circuit training workout/ exercise routine that functions quite well as a bodybuilding workout.

Here's what I do...

I'm going to do a bodybuilding workout consisting of 3 anaerobic exercises (pretty much anything where you're pushing or pulling weight) and 1 cardio exercise in that order and I'm going to go through the circuit 4 times.

The only difference with this circuit training routine and most others is that I usually add 1 station at the end of the circuit that is a cardio exercise like running on a treadmill, riding on a stationary bike or riding an elliptical trainer. I usually perform the cardio exercise for 5 minutes at a pretty good pace but I make sure I can maintain a conversation with someone at all times to make sure I'm not going too hard as I'm usually trying to burn fat and not necessarily for the cardio benefits

Again this bodybuilding workout/ exercise routine is ideal when you have limited time in the gym and you want to both pump iron and get some cardio in. Remember sometimes you just want to throw something different at your body if you've been working out for awhile and your body is adapting to your workouts.
